About the position

Sunnova Energy is searching for a Regional Sales Consultant to be responsible for generating and closing solar sales. The Hybrid Consultant will help meet sales goals and monitor performance of their sales team. This position involves responding to solar leads, qualifying prospects, generating demand, designing and pricing solar/storage systems, and guiding customers through the contract signing and post-sale journey. The consultant will have a monthly sales quota of 10 sales.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to Solar leads
  • Works Leads and self gen for Solar leads in assigned territories
  • Qualifying Prospects for Solar
  • Generates demand and appointments in Solar sales
  • Designs and Prices Solar/Storage systems
  • Guides customers through contract signing and the post-sale journey
  • Customer Engagement: Reach out to potential customers, handle inbound leads, and nurture relationships through calls, emails, and video conferencing.
  • Needs Assessment: Perform detailed energy assessments to understand customers' energy usage, preferences, and savings goals.
  • Solution Presentation: Present customized solar solutions, explaining the system's impact on energy costs, financing options, and the technical setup.
  • Education & Guidance: Educate customers on solar energy benefits, equipment, installation process, and maintenance.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain organized records in Salesforce, track the customer journey, and ensure follow-ups for seamless sales experience.
  • Quoting & Closing: Provide accurate price quotes, discuss financing options, and assist customers through the application and approval process.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Maintain strong communication with customers throughout the process, address concerns, and aim to exceed expectations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with internal teams including marketing, customer service, and technical support to ensure smooth onboarding and high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Experience in Sales: Minimum of 2 years in solar sales or a related field, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with video conferencing and virtual tools.
  • Customer-Oriented Mindset: Strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experience and a consultative approach to sales.
  • Technical Understanding: Basic knowledge of solar energy systems, energy storage, and home energy needs.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage Salesforce, track leads, and stay on top of follow-ups.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to address customer concerns, troubleshoot issues, and provide clear guidance.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with a fast-paced and evolving industry, adaptable to new products and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with solar software platforms (e.g., Solar Design Tools, Aurora Solar).
  • Knowledge of financing options for solar installations, including PPA, leasing, and loans.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are a plus.
  • Experience in residential solar sales is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related fields
