About the position

The Regional Sales Development Manager will oversee business relationships with clients and retail partners in the Metro NY area, reporting to the Director of Sales Development, Perishables. This role is essential for building and maintaining long-term relationships, developing strategic business plans, and executing promotional strategies that align with client and retailer objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage business relationships with clients and retail partners in the Metro NY area.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of client and retailer assortments and strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer behaviors, and promotional activities.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans that integrate client and retailer KPIs.
  • Present to clients and retailers, ensuring timely communication and execution of promotional plans.
  • Assist with client negotiations and provide innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Recommend best-in-class marketing plans utilizing retailer capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or 5-7 years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in the consumer products industry, specifically food products.
  • Experience calling on Metro NY retailers and distributors is highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of Perishable Departments (Produce, Deli, Bakery, Seafood, Meat, Dairy, Frozen) is preferred.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and a passion for the food industry.
  • Strong project and time management experience.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and oral skills, along with negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Innovative, solution-oriented mindset with strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience with reviewing and interpreting syndicated data for strategic recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency with computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, SAP).
  • Access to reliable transportation for regional travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the brokerage industry is a plus but not mandatory.
