About the position

The Regional Sales Director (RSD) at Trustmark Voluntary Benefits is responsible for increasing new business sales by establishing strong, consultative partnerships with major worksite and voluntary benefit distributors. This role involves engaging with brokers, agents, financial planners, and consultants to provide comprehensive benefit solutions to various customers, including hospitals and manufacturing entities. The RSD will stay informed on healthcare trends, manage target accounts, and contribute to sales planning and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual new business sales, net growth & reenrollment objectives as assigned.
  • Demonstrate the value proposition to distribution partners.
  • Direct and manage the acquisition process by establishing priorities with the sales support team.
  • Proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with Sales Implementation, Key Account Managers, Case Underwriting & Marketing.
  • Generate new business opportunities through existing and new relationships, market analysis, and cold calling.
  • Partner with marketing and product development to educate the network channel on Trustmark's value proposition.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and influence RFP design with the distribution channel.
  • Monitor and report on competition to evaluate Trustmark's market position.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for activity reporting, forecasting, and workflow management.
  • Provide monthly reports of pipeline, forecasts, and metrics.

Requirements

  • 5 years of Voluntary product sales or equivalent work experience
  • Consultative sales experience required
  • Experience generating and analyzing reports to enhance sales or customer experience
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and make timely decisions
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Interpersonal effectiveness with proven ability to establish/maintain relationships
  • Capable of operating the complete MS Office Suite
