About the position

The Regional Sales Director of Federal Civilian sales at Splunk is responsible for leading and managing a sales team focused on delivering software solutions to federal agencies. This role emphasizes building a high-performing sales organization, achieving revenue targets, and fostering collaboration with technical resources and partners. The position requires a strong background in federal sales, particularly in the civilian sector, and a commitment to driving results while maintaining a culture of belonging and diversity within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage the sales team and collaborate with assigned technical resources and inside sales.
  • Consistently deliver new licenses, support, and service revenue targets.
  • Conduct territory mapping, account planning, and opportunity management.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises by emphasizing value and ROI.
  • Work with inside sales and partners for maximum efficiency.
  • Utilize sales engineering and in-house as well as partner services resources.
  • Act as a player/leader, being hands-on with the team in account planning, strategy, and sales calls.
  • Hire the right team to match company growth.
  • Effectively use sales methodology and processes.
  • Leverage both international and domestic colleagues to expand deal size and value to the customer.
  • Maintain a good corporate citizen approach with timely information flow and teamwork.
  • Provide timely and informative input back to other corporate functions, particularly product management and marketing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience running Federal/Civilian front line software sales teams; second line management experience is a plus.
  • 10+ years of direct and channel selling experience to large federal enterprises, with experience in Federal Health preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with the Federal/Civilian sector.
  • Relevant software experience in IT systems, enterprise, or infrastructure management.
  • Proven forecasting commitments and accuracy.
  • Outstanding management, interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Capable of working independently and remotely from other team members and corporate.
  • Demonstrated track record of success with prospects and customers in the defined territory.
  • US Citizenship required and must be residing in the US.
