About the position

The Structural Heart Regional Sales Director at Abbott is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring that the assigned region meets or exceeds sales and profitability objectives. This position requires the formulation of effective sales strategies tailored to the specific markets within the assigned geography and product lines, aimed at achieving the revenue goals set by the company. The Regional Sales Director will work closely with sales representatives to identify and evaluate market opportunities and sales potential, establishing and achieving their annual sales objectives. This role also involves managing and coaching the activities of sales representatives, clinical representatives, and other field personnel, ensuring that they are equipped to succeed in their roles. In addition to sales management, the Regional Sales Director is tasked with negotiating contracts with external customers and keeping the company informed of market dynamics and competitive activity. This position is also responsible for the management and implementation of company policies, ensuring compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. A key aspect of this role is to recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent, fostering a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. The Regional Sales Director will create an entrepreneurial environment, providing direction and guidance to exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. This role requires a strong focus on the organization's vision and values, demonstrating effective change leadership and building strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives. The position also involves developing and executing organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups, monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures, and making decisions regarding work processes or operational plans to achieve departmental objectives. Additionally, the Regional Sales Director will develop, monitor, and appropriately adjust the annual budget for the department(s).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of medical devices preferred.
  • Experience with Structural Heart will be given strong consideration/preference.
