About the position

The Regional Sales Director, US Neurology is responsible for maximizing revenue through effective leadership of the Neurology Regional Account Manager team. This role involves driving sales performance, implementing marketing programs, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare sector. The position requires a strategic approach to resource allocation and business planning, ensuring compliance with ethical standards while achieving sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive outstanding sales performance with Regional Account Managers to meet or exceed sales forecasts.
  • Coach the use of assigned resources to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Maintain an understanding of local market dynamics and share insights with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide input into resource allocation decisions across the region.
  • Lead the RAM Team in identifying and selecting appropriate programs/resources for customers.
  • Utilize analytical tools to evaluate business performance and guide the RAM Team.
  • Develop local business plans with RAMs to achieve sales goals.
  • Attract, retain, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Conduct regular field visits and business reviews, providing feedback to support development needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with physicians and key thought leaders.
  • Lead the RAM Team in developing new accounts and expanding existing ones.
  • Ensure high levels of clinical and business acumen in customer service delivery.
  • Facilitate communication and execution between internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and lead Team POA meetings.
  • Provide input to the Neurology TA regarding US Brand Strategy for Alexion products.
  • Conduct business reviews with the VP/Business Unit Lead to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Act with integrity and compliance with laws and internal policies.

Requirements

  • Degree in life science and/or business/marketing.
  • Proven track record of employee development and performance management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience leading manager-level staff and delivering results.
  • Experience in specialty sales, particularly with neurologists or orphan drug sales.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding existing sales teams.
  • Broad cross-functional experience in commercial roles such as marketing and sales operations.
  • Experience with launching biopharmaceutical products.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel within the US regularly, including overnight and/or weekend travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced or Master's degree.
  • Experience in bio/pharma, particularly in neurology or ophthalmology.
