About the position

The Regional Sales Director for Trustmark in the Washington DC Maryland-Capital Region is responsible for driving new business sales through the establishment of strong, consultative partnerships with major worksite and voluntary benefit distributors. This role involves engaging with various stakeholders, including brokers, agents, and financial planners, to provide comprehensive benefit solutions to customers such as hospitals and manufacturing entities. The position requires a proactive approach to sales, market analysis, and relationship management to achieve annual sales objectives and contribute to the overall growth of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual new business sales, net growth & reenrollment objectives as assigned.
  • Demonstrate the value proposition to distribution partners.
  • Direct and manage the acquisition process by establishing priorities with the sales support team.
  • Proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with Sales Implementation, Key Account Managers, Case Underwriting & Marketing.
  • Generate new business opportunities through existing and new relationships, market analysis, and cold calling.
  • Partner with marketing and product development to educate the network channel on Trustmark's value proposition.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and influence RFP design in collaboration with the distribution channel.
  • Monitor and report on competition to evaluate Trustmark's market position.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for activity reporting, forecasting, and business requests.
  • Provide monthly reports of pipeline, forecasts, and metrics using Salesforce automation tool.

Requirements

  • 5 years of Voluntary product sales or equivalent work experience
  • Consultative sales experience required
  • Experience generating and analyzing reports to enhance sales or customer experience
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle conflict with minimal oversight
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Interpersonal effectiveness with proven ability to establish/maintain respectful relationships
  • Capable of operating the complete MS Office Suite
