About the position

Norbar Torque Tools, a leader in torque measurement solutions and a wholly owned subsidiary of Snap-on Incorporated, is seeking a Regional Sales Engineer to join our team. This position is crucial for driving sales of the Norbar and Sturtevant Richmont product lines within the Gulf Coast States and Central Region Territory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing an effective sales plan that introduces our product lines to potential customers and expands our market presence. The Regional Sales Engineer will qualify leads, build relationships, and sell through our distribution network while also engaging in direct sales within the assigned territory. Regular contact with customers is essential, and the candidate will be expected to prepare detailed call reports and sales quotes. Maintaining accurate customer files, contact information, and customer history is a key part of the role. The position may also involve attending conventions and trade shows to promote our products and may require working outside of the assigned territory to support national accounts and other territories as needed. This role requires a commitment to travel, with approximately 50% of the time spent on the road visiting customers across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The successful candidate will be expected to perform all other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the sales team and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an effective sales plan to introduce the Norbar & Sturtevant Richmont product lines.
  • Qualify, build, and sell through the distribution network.
  • Cold call and sell direct within the assigned territory.
  • Make regular contact with customers.
  • Prepare call reports and sales quotes.
  • Maintain customer files, contact information, and customer history.
  • Attend conventions and trade shows as needed.
  • Work outside of assigned territory to support national accounts and other territories as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Outside industrial sales experience, preferably in power generation, heavy manufacturing, aviation, or automotive assembly industries.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong hands-on skills with a solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn company and vendor windows-based software programs.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and traverse half a mile or more through manufacturing sites or field locations.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel overnight within the sales territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on industrial sales experience, selling air or electrically operated geared power tools, torque tools, pneumatic power tools, bolting and/or fasteners, or MES Systems.
  • Experience managing a multi-state sales territory and selling direct as well as through other sales channels.
  • Experience working with Industrial Distributors and Manufacturer Reps.
  • Experience conducting sales demonstrations and presentations, and operating power and programmable tools.
