About the position

This position provides an exceptional opportunity to be an important part of an industry leading manufacturing company. The Regional Sales Engineering Manager manages a team of International Sales Engineers while maintaining and developing a defined regional sales area for the purpose of growing revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, reviews, and updates individual Engineer's sales goals, sales strategy, pre-call strategy forms, trip reports and other duties related to each area of the territory
  • Implements new sales tools and developments; reviews industry sales and trades publications, articles, and abstracts to identify new opportunities
  • Compiles and analyzes sales data such as forecasts, revenues, opportunities for a specific region to strategically deploy his team and meet sales objectives
  • Determines feasibility of designing new products, modifying existing products considering costs, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and sales factors
  • Completes and maintains outside sales management training
  • Reviews Sales Engineers and Senior Sales Engineers performance
  • Manages customer visits to Smalley
  • Participates in quarterly talent review meetings
  • Travels for assigned territory and participates in ride-alongs 4 - 6 weeks per year
  • Participates in the annual sales planning
  • Provides direction, coordination and support to the Sales team
  • Coaches and mentors Sales Engineers while holding each one accountable for their activity and performance
  • Manages the training development and support for all Sales professionals
  • Role model problem-solving, managing difficult conversations and helps resolve sensitive escalation issues
  • Leads team including recruiting, developing and evaluating team members

Requirements

  • Engineering Bachelor's Degree required (B.S.) from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep expertise in Smalley customers
  • International sales experience ideally in India, China, France, Korea, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Highly organized and strategic
