About the position

The Regional Sales Manager for Gas Detection Systems at Draeger, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for driving the growth of the Draeger Fire and Gas Detection Systems business across the AZ, NM, NV, CO, and UT territories. This position is remote, but candidates must reside within the specified states. The primary focus of the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is to engage in new business development with identified target customers while also nurturing existing customer relationships, including managing service contracts. The RSM will identify potential target end-users within key segments, prioritize accounts, and strategize to achieve optimal sales and profitability results. This role emphasizes sales within the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors, as well as application-driven markets, leveraging both direct sales efforts and the management of manufacturer representatives. The RSM is expected to maintain a keen awareness of market trends and competitive dynamics, sharing insights with internal stakeholders to inform strategy. An annual sales plan must be developed, and effective time and territory management techniques should be applied to maximize productivity, with sales activities planned in advance over 30, 60, and 90-day intervals. Responsibilities

  • Build the Draeger Fire and Gas Detection Systems business in the assigned geographic territory.
  • Engage in new business development with identified target customers.
  • Grow the installed base with existing customers, including service contracts.
  • Identify, manage, and drive manufacturer's representatives within the territory.
  • Identify potential target end-users and prioritize accounts to maximize sales results.
  • Focus on sales in the oil, gas, and petrochemical segments, as well as application-driven markets.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and competition, sharing insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop an annual sales plan and apply time and territory management techniques to maximize productivity.
  • Plan sales activities 30-60-90 days in advance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science discipline from an accredited university.
  • 4 years' experience selling process control solutions, analyzers, or instrumentation.
  • Gas/Oil Systems experience required.
  • Certified or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
  • Member of a recognized professional body for control/instrumentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
  • Ability to perform routine arithmetic calculations and understand pricing structures and gross margin.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
