About the position

The Regional Sales Manager for the Building Division at The AMES Companies is a pivotal role that drives sales growth through strategic management of relationships with residential and commercial builders, designers, and architects in the new construction market. This position requires a proactive approach to coordinate business efforts with both single-family and multi-family commercial builders, ensuring that the sales strategy is effectively implemented and communicated across various teams. The successful candidate will work closely with the VP of Sales, National Sales Manager, and Regional Managers to develop programs and agreements that enhance ClosetMaid's market share. As a Road Warrior, the Regional Sales Manager will be expected to travel approximately 40% of the time across multiple territories in the Northeast, including states such as New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and others. This travel is essential for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the construction industry. The role also involves supervising external independent representatives and maximizing the growth and profitability of business relationships. The manager will be responsible for following up on leads generated from various events and delivering effective presentations to showcase customer benefits. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all business efforts with single family and multi-family commercial builders, builder designers, and architects.
  • Manage, implement and promote the overall Building Division sales strategy and communicate with the appropriate sales personnel both internal and external as well as with the subcontractor base.
  • Work with VP of Sales, National Sales Manager, Regional Managers & independent representatives as well as our financial team to develop programs and agreements appropriate for maintaining and growing ClosetMaid's market share.
  • Supervise external independent rep agents in conjunction with National & Regional sales personnel.
  • Maximize the growth and profitability of overall business relationships.
  • Work with team on builder contracts.
  • Follow up on builder and architect leads from various events.
  • Deliver effective presentations and demonstrations to show customer benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in Sales and/or marketing
  • Demonstrated success selling to builders/architects/designers
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively
  • Capable of working with limited supervision
  • Superior leadership skills and a competitive spirit
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to contribute to effective team output through cooperation and commitment to shared vision and goals
  • Experience engaging effectively with local sales teams to manage customers
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel 40% of the time
