About the position

The Regional Sales Manager (Northeast) is responsible for driving sales growth and managing the sales channel for Heyco components within the specified region. This role involves working independently and collaboratively with other sales personnel to identify new customers, markets, and product opportunities, while also developing strategies to maximize sales and market share. The position requires a strong focus on customer needs, competitive analysis, and collaboration with various functional areas to ensure responsive product and service offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the firm's activities in the aggressive growth and expansion of a specified target market and/or product.
  • Identify and develop new customers, markets, and product opportunities.
  • Research selling opportunities through various media to achieve sales growth.
  • Develop sales leads into new customers and manage contacts effectively.
  • Make proactive sales calls to qualify prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to provide input into decision-making processes.
  • Gather information regarding customer needs and pricing strategies.
  • Recommend changes in products and services based on market evaluations.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, IT, and Operations to meet customer needs.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for sales leads.
  • Display or demonstrate products to emphasize features and benefits.
  • Quote prices and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimate delivery dates based on production schedules.
  • Provide input into future product and market development plans.
  • Train customers or fellow employees as required.
  • Seek new markets or applications for existing products.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Engineering or Business) with 5+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of product lines, procedures, and policies.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
  • Mathematical skills to calculate discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • Reasoning ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Valid driver's license.
