About the position

The Regional Sales Manager for Northern Mid West is responsible for overseeing all business operations within the Minnesota, North and South Dakota territories. This role involves establishing and managing sales strategies, providing leadership to the sales team, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage customer relationships and sales processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales promotions that result in the generation of new business.
  • Process and monitor all invoicing activity.
  • Monitor profit margins for all product categories.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the sales team.
  • Conduct weekly sales calls with all representatives within the territory.
  • Establish and monitor customer credit status for all existing accounts.
  • Review monthly Accounts Receivable status and collection activity and methods.
  • Facilitate the purchase of all materials, seed, and chemicals.
  • Provide sales representatives with updated market conditions.
  • Ensure sufficient inventory at all times through appropriate monitoring and forecasting activities.
  • Address material problems and discrepancies promptly.
  • Participate in the interviewing process for new staff members.
  • Maintain dealer relations with TIMAC.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all sales representatives.
  • Participate in employee relations management, including hiring, compensation, discipline, and termination of employees.
  • Facilitate and conduct post-season meetings with employees.
  • Implement and evaluate sales training programs.
  • Provide customer service on technically related issues as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of proven experience in agricultural product sales.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability.
  • Dependable follow-up skills.
  • Very strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Effective use of technology.
