About the position

The Regional Sales Manager for Northwest Indiana at Stine Seed Company is responsible for coordinating sales and agronomy support for Independent Sales Representatives (ISRs) in the region. This role involves direct engagement with ISRs to understand their needs, assist in sales strategies, and foster relationships with key growers and dealers. The position also includes managing marketing budgets, conducting meetings, and providing agronomic expertise to enhance product placement and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for sales and agronomy information for ISRs.
  • Spend a minimum of 3 days a month in the territory with ISRs to understand their needs.
  • Assist ISRs in developing and managing key prospect lists and monitor their progress.
  • Support ISRs in new dealer and direct grower recruitment.
  • Build relationships with key growers and dealers.
  • Evaluate ISRs on sales performance and recommend changes to improve productivity.
  • Evaluate candidates for ISR openings and assist in filling vacancies.
  • Represent Stine at career fairs and recruiting functions.
  • Evaluate territory and make necessary changes.
  • Conduct business plan meetings quarterly with ISRs.
  • Manage and allocate regional marketing budgets and plot seed allocations.
  • Assist ISRs with organizing grower/dealer meetings and territory advertising campaigns.
  • Lead regional meetings and assist in communication between sales force and support personnel.
  • Assist ISRs with corn and soybean shipping as needed.
  • Provide marketing and sales input for future company programs and strategies.
  • Attend and participate in sales/agronomy team meetings.
  • Help ISRs and customers determine the strengths and proper placement of Stine seed products.
  • Assist with product performance inquiries and agronomic issues.
  • Assist with the development and design of Yield in the Field (YIF) Plots.
  • Help with the planting and harvesting of YIF Plots.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in agronomy, crop production, or the seed industry is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with multiple team members to meet goals.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.

  • Experience in sales support and agronomy in the seed industry.
  • Strong knowledge of corn and soybean products.
