About the position

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving annual sales goals and objectives for assigned accounts within the In-Store Bakery (ISB) sales strategy. This role involves providing sales, marketing, and merchandising direction, as well as outstanding customer service to existing accounts in the greater NYC territory. The manager will focus on maximizing growth and profitability while selling new products and developing partnerships with customers across various segments.

Responsibilities

  • Define new customers and territories for the DSD business and expand existing relationships with major customers.
  • Research sources for developing prospective customers and gather critical information to determine their potential.
  • Communicate and coordinate sales activities with plant operations, supply chain, R&D, QA, finance, and logistics as required.
  • Utilize CRM (SalesForce) and other sales tracking tools for leads and sales progress.
  • Provide ongoing analysis regarding customer performance compared to prior year, plan, and current forecast.
  • Develop effective retail 'pull-thru' marketing programs to support smaller, family-owned businesses.
  • Communicate/coordinate with Regional Sales Managers and Broker Partners to provide service/support to all assigned accounts.
  • Lead the execution of the annual Business Plan in conjunction with Corporate and Division objectives.
  • Achieve individual and market case/financial margin targets by executing division strategies and delivering market plans.
  • Prepare and present proposals for improving distribution, space, sales, and service in retail stores.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales management, or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years progressive sales experience in the food and beverage industry, with bakery experience being a plus.
  • Strong awareness and applicable understanding of supply chain and manufacturing operations.
  • A strong history of successful prospecting, lead generation, and securing new business.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time, and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel for in-person visits with customers, attend trade shows, and team meetings as required.
