About the position

DSG is seeking a Plumbing Regional Sales Manager for the Michigan region. This full-time, salaried position involves leading the planning, directing, and monitoring of plumbing sales activities. The role focuses on developing a high-performing sales team to achieve sales and gross margin objectives while enhancing customer experience. The ideal candidate will be a key member of the regional leadership team, responsible for coaching the sales team to increase market share through customer retention and acquisition, with heavy travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a team of Outside Sales Account Managers.
  • Work with the Regional General Manager (RGM) and VP of Sales to create strategic plans to increase market share and gross profit.
  • Develop annual customer sales and margin budgets for existing and new customer targets.
  • Conduct regular reviews of account performance to ensure alignment with regional objectives.
  • Accompany sales team members on customer calls to exceed customer expectations.
  • Provide coaching and development for the sales force while promoting autonomy.
  • Maintain relationships with key customers and vendors to ensure exceptional service levels.
  • Lead pricing proposals and strategic plans for key accounts.
  • Monitor market activity, sales trends, and product performance.
  • Manage expenses related to sales activity in alignment with regional objectives.
  • Support customer adoption of the eCommerce platform.

Requirements

  • Five years of field selling experience in the plumbing industry.
  • Three to five years of sales team hiring, development, and management experience.
  • Valid driver's license due to heavy travel requirements.
  • Experience in the distribution industry.
  • High level of analytical ability to interpret data and solve problems.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate individuals and teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, analyze, prioritize, and organize work effectively under pressure.
  • Familiarity with local markets.
  • Comfortable developing and delivering presentations.
