The Professional (PRO) Regional Sales Manager is responsible for building strong customer/prescriber relationships (with breeders, shelters, working dogs, sporting dogs, show breeders and distributors), helping the PRO to deliver against key performance metrics, and manage and grow a field sales team. This role is a contributor on the PRO North American leadership team, which works to drive the long-term vision for PRO, while creating a strong culture developing passionate advocates.
What are we looking for?
* University degree or equivalence in business, sales, science or other relevant degree
* 7 years of sales experience
* People management & overall leadership experience in leading, motivating and managing a sales force
* CPG or Pet related experience
* Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
* Experience managing a profit & loss statement
* 35-50% Travel
What would be your key responsibilities?
* Deliver results in the Sales Region
* Develop and implement the annual sales plan
* Organizational skills including - territory management, planning and time management skills to optimize work flow, review/approve/debit credits and returns, computer replication, expense management as well as reviewing/approving teams expenses.
* Appropriate allocation of time so as to spend 60% of your time with your sales reps, 10% Customer relationship-building/contract negotiation, 10% PRO Leadership team, 20% administrative
* Collaborate with x-functional teams to support negotiations to develop mutually beneficial tailored contracts for prescribers (Breed Clubs, D2C, NGO's, Scale Shelters, Service Dog Organizations, etc.)
* Co-create National Sales objectives grounded in Local, Regional & Global priorities
* Participate, contribute, and support the NA PRO Leadership team (PRO)
* Contribute to sales planning for PRO, including S&OP, sales forecasting & inventory management, pets fed growth towards long term target, and D2C execution.
* Recruit, coach and develop your field associates. Provide performance appraisals quarterly, 6 months, and yearly with specific action plans incorporating and updating Personal Development Plans (PDP) & Objectives (IBO).
* Calling on Shelter/Rescues, Breeder & WSSD organizations, distributors with sales reps, providing real-time coaching and performance feedback
* Seminars, lunch and learn and informal presentations to educate staff on nutrition, need recognition and management as requested by sales reps.
* Participation in local, state and national industry related trade shows, conferences and social events
* Provide back-up and support to representatives in other Royal Canin territories
* Be able to stay within established T&E/Trade budget and look for efficiencies that could result in savings/reinvestment.
* Capacity to develop, update, modify regional forecast and make necessary modifications to reach target
* Lead/support your teams (direct reports) impact planning sessions (follow through on engagement).
* Adhere to applicable Quality and Food Safety Policies and Quality Management System requirements to ensure compliance to MARS standards.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the below range, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay & general allowances (depending on the position and employee's work schedule). Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans then in effect, and depending on the position offered and the employee's work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule), eligible employees are automatically enrolled in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents, and may be eligible to take up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Employees will also receive the following paid-time off (which may be prorated based on start date and the employee's work schedule): 120 hours of vacation per year, paid sick time for eligible Associates of 100% pay continuation for a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year, and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year that include both fixed and flexible holidays.
