To help us fuel accelerated growth, we are looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager, New Business Development for our SMB vertical. Position Overview: The Regional Sales Manager (outside sales), SMB is responsible for managing and leading a team of Outside Sales Representatives. As a Regional Sales Manager focusing on Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs), you will be responsible for driving sales growth and revenue opportunities. This individual is accountable for the monthly and daily sales metrics of new account approvals, new account activations, net revenue, and product sales. The emphasis of which will be on monthly, weekly, and daily production goals. Your primary areas of focus will be on securing new SMB clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions to meet those needs and leading a team of outside sales representatives to achieve targets and expand market presence. This individual must be able to coach, train and motivate outside Sales Representatives to be actively engaged with clients every day, build rapport with clients on every call and meeting, be able to teach consultative selling and product sales that provide a complete solution for the client, and finally close the sales call and get the client activated. Additionally, this individual will need to do summary level reporting on a monthly, weekly and daily basis to provide relevant metrics with a qualitative explanation to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets within the SMB segment
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of outside sales representatives to drive performance and meet individual and team objectives
  • Review daily and MTD reports each day and provide written and verbal summaries when necessary to the leadership team
  • Identify the needs of the team, identify the actions necessary to meet these needs and report findings monthly to senior management
  • Identify Reps that are behind on their goals and develop and deliver to senior management a plan on how to get the Sales Rep to plan
  • Hands on leader who can routinely motivate high performing sales reps and provide a process for them to share their best practices with other team members
  • Lead daily team huddles and regular one on one meetings with team members
  • Conduct regular sales meetings for coaching opportunities and performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement and development with the sales team
  • Prepare and present monthly performance data, including close rate, approvals, activation and revenue to senior management
  • Work with other leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives to increase net revenue and the daily sales metrics such as close rate, client contact, activations, etc.

Requirements

  • 5 years of sales management experience in a similar or related industry with a proven track record of success or a minimum of 8-10 years' experience in merchant services high-volume outside sales at a similar company in lieu of management experience
  • BA or BS degree preferred but not required
  • Experience in payments within SMB is highly desired
  • Experience using a CRM to manage sales opportunities. Salesforce experience a plus
  • Experience in the payments space is a plus
