About the position
The Central Regional Sales Manager for the Heavy Duty Division at Federal Signal is responsible for driving sales growth across a broad territory that includes multiple states. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities, maintaining market awareness, and leading sales efforts to achieve sales objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales experience, particularly in the safety and security sector, and will be based in Dallas or Chicago.
Responsibilities
- Achieve new business objectives and programs within the assigned territory.
- Develop sales funnel and forecast projections using company CRM and Quoteworks Software.
- Seek out new market opportunities to grow product sales through new customer acquisition.
- Maintain awareness of competitive market conditions that influence sales.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to win business with internal resources.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge to assist in sales meetings and service functions.
- Provide sales direction to Manufacturer's Rep and Distributor Sales Forces through training and joint calls.
- Timely reporting of issues and expense reports to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field, or 5+ years of sales experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3 years of sales experience in the safety & security business or a relevant area.
- Experience with Manufacturing Product Reps or Distributors.
- Willingness to travel at least 50%.
- Good organizational and project management skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
