About the position

The Regional Sales Manager at Elma Electronic Inc. is responsible for leading internal teams and external sales representatives to achieve sales targets within their designated customer base. This role involves developing new customer relationships, expanding existing ones, and understanding key purchasing factors to position Elma favorably in the market. The RSM will also support growth in additional markets by understanding the product offerings and collaborating with various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Manage and lead an internal team for opportunity and proposal development, providing guidance and mentoring as applicable
  • Identify and pursue new business in both defense and industrial markets
  • Lead Sales Representatives in the region for further development of new customers and new industries
  • Conduct market research and maintain an understanding of industry trends and competitors
  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales strategies with company offerings
  • Attend events and trade shows with the marketing team to promote products and the company
  • Maintain customer, lead, and opportunity information in the CRM
  • Maintain forecasts that will be pulled from the CRM
  • Provide technical and price support to the Sales Representatives
  • Support orders already in process, in case customer responses are lagging
  • Assist in the training of Representatives
  • Special sales projects as needed
  • Other various duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, including understanding Terms and Conditions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of motivation and drive to succeed
  • Proven successful record of technical sales in the electronics industry
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of proven sales success in a project business
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
