About the position

The Regional Sales Manager for Hitachi Global Air Power plays a crucial role in driving sales growth and market share within a designated region. This position is responsible for building and leading a high-performing sales team, developing strategic sales initiatives, and ensuring effective training and mentoring to achieve revenue targets and enhance the company's presence in the industrial equipment sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute aggressive sales strategies aligned with HGAP objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard outside equipment sales team members.
  • Identify product gaps affecting aftermarket sales and develop strategies to address them.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to the sales team.
  • Set performance expectations and conduct regular activity reviews.
  • Drive revenue growth through new business opportunities and account expansion.
  • Assist in developing KPIs and metrics for revenue growth and margin expansion.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of compressors and the compressed air industry.
  • Ensure focus on market share growth and aftermarket growth.
  • Address customer issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and provide regular performance reports.
  • Coordinate with leadership for CRM development and implementation.
  • Utilize sales support and technical software for value-based sales proposals.
  • Identify and establish alternate distribution networks to increase footprint.
  • Provide financial equipment sales forecasts and assist in inventory planning.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with large account customers and resellers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS or equivalent preferred).
  • 10+ years of Business-to-Business Sales Leadership experience in industrial equipment.
  • Experience in recruiting and developing sales teams within a matrix organization.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales objectives.
  • Experience driving a metrics-driven professional sales process.
  • Strong background in direct sales to industrial end users.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.

Nice-to-haves

  • Air compressor experience is preferred.
