About the position

The Regional Sales Manager at Clean Earth is responsible for providing leadership and direction to a team of Regional Account Managers (RAM) within a designated geography. This role focuses on developing and implementing sales strategies to maximize revenue and profits by maintaining and growing existing customer relationships while acquiring new customers. The position operates under the guidance of the Senior Regional Sales Director and involves managing the entire sales cycle, coordinating regional account sales strategies, and ensuring the effective use of the Clean Earth CRM system.

Responsibilities

  • Provides sales leadership support and direction for a group of Regional Account Managers (RAM) in a select geography.
  • Develops and initiates Clean Earth strategies for the company, along with regional specific growth opportunities.
  • Directs and provides guidance for the RAM team to maximize revenue and profits through maintenance/growth of existing customers and acquiring new customers.
  • Operates under the guidance of the Senior Regional Sales Director for the area.
  • Directs and manages the recruiting, hiring, training, and development of sales staff.
  • Serves as a regional liaison between the Regional Sales Team and various departments including Operations, Customer Service, and Finance.
  • Directs and manages sales productivity and profitability to achieve designated profit and revenue objectives.
  • Manages the entire sales cycle from prospecting to contract renewals.
  • Coordinates, implements, and manages regional account sales strategies.
  • Strategizes with the National Accounts team to develop National accounts within the region.
  • Drives Clean Earth commercial strategies for growth and success.
  • Operates within designated expense budgets and reports regional sales results.
  • Develops, maintains, and utilizes pricing models for all major markets and implements service agreements consistent with financial objectives.
  • Works with the Technical Sales team to drive cross-selling within accounts in the region.
  • Ensures adoption and regular usage of Clean Earth CRM system by self and direct reports.
  • Ensures performance of Clean Earth Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for self and direct reports.

Requirements

  • Educational equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a Science-related field, Sales, or Marketing, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of sales experience with demonstrated leadership activities.
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience in using a CRM system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong phone contact handling skills, active listening, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in high-stress environments, managing several tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%-50% of the time.
