About the position

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing sales in a defined geographical territory, focusing on building relationships with existing customers and prospecting new clients. This role requires a creative problem solver who is eager to learn and develop their sales and account management skills. The position involves working closely with the VP of Sales and the marketing department to drive sales growth and ensure customer satisfaction in the power transmission industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounts and prospects in a defined sales territory, excluding those assigned to a Strategic Account Executive.
  • Sell PEER products and grow sales while ensuring profit contribution for the territory.
  • Build ongoing relationships with companies and position PEER as a quality provider.
  • Service the existing customer base and prospect new clients in the medium to large sales range.
  • Work closely with the marketing department to execute innovative campaigns.
  • Develop long-term distributor relationships and monitor branch activity to achieve goals.
  • Sell products directly to OEMs on a long-term basis.
  • Establish new clients through prospecting, including cold calling and market research.
  • Enter notes into the CRM system as a requirement.

Requirements

  • Ability to relate to all types of companies and sales levels from small manufacturers to Fortune 500 companies.
  • Comfortable interacting with individuals from CEOs to Material Managers.
  • Proven track record in competitive sales situations.
  • Two years of successful selling and growing sales through new customers preferred.
  • Experience selling based on company merit and value-added services rather than price alone.
  • Knowledge or experience with Chain and Sprocket is helpful.
  • OEM-prototyping and application engineering experience is beneficial.
  • History of making MRO calls with Distributors is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbally, to large groups.
  • Strong desire to travel 50-60% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales within the power transmission industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales processes.
