About the position

The Regional Sales Manager at Emerson is responsible for driving sales in the designated region, managing relationships with distributors, representatives, and OEM accounts. This role involves developing sales strategies, forecasting regional sales, and supporting new product adoption while ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Sales Channel by developing and maintaining relationships within established geographic and product/market parameters.
  • Lead and direct the sales channel network by providing product and application training, assisting in account development, and making customer sales calls with distributors/representatives.
  • Gather and disseminate market information to the Marketing Department and Sales Team regarding regional economic conditions and trends.
  • Develop and maintain regional sales forecasts and communicate changes to the Director of Sales, North America.
  • Continuously monitor market activities within assigned industrial markets and communicate this information to Marketing and Sales.
  • Generate ideas for new products and services and actively participate in New Product development teams.
  • Support the development of promotional strategies to increase visibility and market penetration.
  • Plan and conduct technical training and seminars, and participate in trade shows to facilitate sales growth.
  • Meet or exceed new product sales targets through strategies specific to the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years' experience in valve/actuator or regulator products.
  • 2+ years' experience in direct and/or distributor sales, business development, or marketing of technical industrial products.
  • Successful track record of working with a team to achieve consistent sales growth.
  • High level of integrity and capable of building trust with others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to travel overnight 50% of the time, or as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Natural Gas or Process Industries is preferred.
  • Prior experience working at Emerson.
