About the position

The position is responsible for achieving sales quotas for Modular Metallic enclosures in the western US, focusing on both direct and distribution sales. The role involves working remotely and managing a diverse sales region while ensuring the electrical distribution channel is well-trained on new products. The individual will analyze competitor activities, partner with category teams for new product identification, maintain customer relationships, and develop sales strategies to drive growth.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales quota for Modular Metallic enclosures in the western US.
  • Work remotely and manage a sales region including multiple states.
  • Train the electrical distribution channel on new products.
  • Analyze competitor products and collect market data.
  • Partner with category teams to identify new product categories and markets.
  • Provide reporting and forecasting for business planning.
  • Maintain relationships with customers and distributors to understand their needs.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy focusing on channel, end-users, and installers.
  • Continuously scan for prospects and expand offerings within accounts.
  • Provide updates via CRM on account and conversion status.
  • Deliver product and solutions training for customers and distributors.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and ensure resolution of issues.
  • Understand market relationships and maintain knowledge of competitors' activities.

Requirements

  • University degree preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years of outside sales experience in a commercial, electrical, or industrial market, preferably in a channel model.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home office with 40-60% travel required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM program.
  • Ability to sell to various customer types including distributors, consultants, engineers, end users, OEMs, MROs, and contractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to drive strategic plans.
  • Ability to define and quantify opportunities through customer research.
