About the position
The Regional Senior Admission Counselor for the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) area is responsible for recruiting prospective students and promoting Texas State University. This role involves engaging with high schools and community colleges, conducting presentations, and participating in admissions events. The counselor must reside within the DFW Metroplex and is expected to work evenings, weekends, and travel overnight as needed.
Responsibilities
- Recruit prospective students and promote Texas State University in the DFW Metroplex.
- Visit high schools and community colleges to engage with students.
- Conduct presentations and participate in admissions events.
- Provide exceptional customer service to prospective students, parents, and counselors.
- Prepare recruitment reports and review admission applications.
- Plan and coordinate recruitment events.
- Collaborate with the admissions team on various initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the DFW Metroplex and its cultural dynamics.
- Professional experience in college admissions.
- Effective and accurate written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
- Texas State employee or alumnus.
- Bilingual Spanish.
- Three years or more of prior experience in professional college admissions.
- Experience with event coordination.
- Experience working remotely.
