As a Region Service and Asset Manager at Suburban Propane, you will play a pivotal role in leading and executing daily operational activities within the Midwest region markets. This position is designed for a strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who will support the Region's leadership team and local Customer Service Center (CSC) Managers in achieving growth and financial goals. Your responsibilities will include implementing key initiatives aimed at improving safety, employee development, operational efficiency, and controllable profit. You will be tasked with driving Service Department enhancement and growth plans, which encompass the rollout and full implementation of service tablet software, developing new service revenue P&L items and processes, and identifying service cross-selling and up-selling opportunities. Additionally, you will enhance the Service Contract business line, ensuring that the region is well-equipped to meet customer needs. In this leadership role, you will also focus on practical and technical training for existing Service Technicians, collaborating with management and Regional Technical Trainers to recruit and develop new technicians. You will work closely with the Region Operations Manager to strategically place Service Technician support and vehicles, ensuring all locations receive the appropriate level of technically proficient service. Your responsibilities will extend to Operational Asset Management, which includes strategic tank, cylinder, and fleet placement, as well as compliance support. You will regionalize the care and maintenance of all other assets, including temporary heating equipment, heaters, hoses, vaporizers, barriers, and water softeners where applicable. Furthermore, you will take a primary role in developing local and regional tank refurbishment programs, including a Department of Transportation (DOT) cylinder recertification plan, and evaluate third-party service provider relationships for maximum benefit to the company.
