About the position

The Regional System Integration Manager (RSM) at Motorola Solutions plays a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of all aspects of the Systems Integration (SI) business within a designated territory. This position is crucial for ensuring the successful implementation, sustainment, and management of mission-critical customer communications system contracts. The RSM is responsible for managing a team of Project Managers and coordinating with System Technologists and Service organizations to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of customers. The role requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and gross margin performance, which are key metrics for success in this position. In this role, the RSM will manage day-to-day operations, including revenue forecasting, cost management, and customer satisfaction initiatives. The responsibilities extend to ensuring the quality and profitability of design, installation, and commissioning of customer projects. This involves coordinating department resources, such as Project Managers and Field Systems Engineers, as well as external resources like third-party subcontractors. The RSM will also be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and conducting performance management activities for their team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. The RSM will lead highly complex programs, directing the work activities of the program team across organizational boundaries. This includes exercising judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and driving strategic relationships between internal and external teams. The role requires effective communication with senior stakeholders and the ability to lead complex negotiations with clients. Additionally, the RSM will be responsible for driving process improvements across departments and conducting project reviews throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the System Integration organization consisting of Project Managers and coordinate with the System Technologist and Service organization.
  • Accountable for hiring, mentoring, performance management, and rewards planning activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including revenue forecasting, cost management, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the quality, profitability, and timeliness of design, installation, and commissioning of customer projects.
  • Coordinate department resources and external resources for project execution.
  • Lead complex programs and direct the work activities of the program team across organizational boundaries.
  • Drive strategic relationships between internal and external teams and resolve issues between groups.
  • Communicate directly with relevant senior stakeholders and lead complex negotiations with clients.
  • Drive process improvements for large parts of the project and conduct project reviews throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 6+ years of project management or program experience.
  • PMP/PMI certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience managing a team of professionals is required.
  • Ability to lead highly complex programs and ensure they progress according to schedule and budget.
  • Strong judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with regional and territorial management.
