About the position

The Regional Training Specialist at Reworld is responsible for overseeing and supporting power-generation based training programs within the region. This role involves leading training and competency assurance for operations and maintenance personnel, ensuring continuous employee growth and development, and managing the learning management system. The position plays a critical role in maintaining a competency management system and reporting on training and qualification status to facility management.

Responsibilities

  • Own, lead and perform technical training for Operation and Maintenance employees in facilities.
  • Lead a competency management system at the assigned facilities and give regular reporting on qualification status, priority training and competency compliance.
  • Evaluate technical competency for employees, identify areas needing improvement and develop individual development plans with employees and their managers.
  • Design and develop training materials to complement field training efforts and deliver training in groups or individually.
  • Identify technical competency gaps and design and develop competency maps and training programs to close those gaps.
  • Manage and deliver training for Apprenticeship programs, Entry-level training programs and other technical programs to ensure employees' competency compliance.
  • Maintain and disseminate accurate employee training & qualification status matrices for assigned plants on SharePoint.
  • Prepare for and participate in qualification status update calls with facility management and regional management.
  • Develop effective working relationships with Facility Manager, Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Shift Supervisor at assigned facilities.
  • Schedule individual/group field and classroom qualification training.
  • Assist with monthly upkeep of ASME-QRO certification data and status in SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to ensure completion of Safety/OpEx/LEAN deployed training.
  • Determine overall effectiveness of programs and training by listening to feedback and making improvements as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical training development and/or competency management experience.
  • Technical Training delivery experience in the Waste-to-Energy, Power Generation, or Chemical Industries.
  • In lieu of technical training/development experience, a bachelor's degree in education, a supporting technical certification, Maritime academy degree, or suitable related military experience is required.
  • ASME/QRO Certification preferred or to be achieved within 12 months of hire date.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficiency in learning/training management and designing technical course content.
  • Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence up the chain of command.
  • Strong organization, leadership, and time management skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to plan and schedule individual work assignments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing training programs for technical fields.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience in the Waste-to-Energy sector.
