About the position

The Regional Vice President, Strategic Accounts at Slingshot Biosciences is responsible for developing and managing client relationships, driving sales growth, and ensuring the success of client engagements across the East Coast. This role acts as the primary point of contact between the company and its clients, focusing on understanding client needs, delivering solutions, and achieving sales targets. The position requires a results-oriented sales professional with experience in managing complex accounts and cultivating long-term client relationships, particularly in the biopharma industry.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the East Coast to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies that align with overall company goals.
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospective clients through networking, cold outreach, and lead generation activities.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers in the biotech, life sciences, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Conduct sales presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the value of Slingshot Biosciences' solutions.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients in the East Coast to drive repeat business and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and challenges are addressed.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products and services to existing clients.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the East Coast market, industry trends, and key competitors.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute localized campaigns that target key prospects in the region.
  • Communicate client feedback and insights to the marketing team to inform future product improvements.
  • Accurately maintain sales pipeline data and provide regular reports on sales activities, progress, and forecasts.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics to ensure sales goals are met and adjust strategies as necessary to optimize results.
  • Attend regional industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and foster relationships with potential clients.
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitor activity to position the company's offerings effectively within the marketplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development or sales within the biopharma industry.
  • Proven history of achieving or exceeding sales targets and successfully managing client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; ability to translate complex solutions into compelling value propositions.
  • Strong network of contacts in the life sciences and biopharma industry on the East Coast.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with SalesForce.com or similar CRM.
  • In-depth knowledge of biotech trends surrounding CGT and experience selling into key accounts.
  • Experience structuring and closing complex sales (custom products, solutions, services) into the biopharma sector with a demonstrated track record of success (multi-year agreements).
  • Demonstrated history of building and maintaining a high performance team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Flow cytometry usage in Cell therapy processes.
  • Startup experience strongly recommended.
