We are seeking an enthusiastic Architect with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong design skills to join our Architecture team in downtown Duluth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a well-respected design team while making a significant impact on various corporate and industrial projects for Fortune 500 clients across the country, as well as educational and government projects in Minnesota. As a member of our team, you will lead and contribute to the design efforts for a variety of projects. Your responsibilities will include developing schematic designs, assisting with specification preparation and edits, and preparing production documentation. In addition to your design responsibilities, you will serve as a Project Manager, coordinating the activities of a multidiscipline team while managing fee estimates, project budgets, and schedules. You will also play a key role in our marketing efforts by developing project proposals and client presentations, maintaining and establishing client relationships, and identifying industry and market trends to launch new business development objectives. This position offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing you to work three days in the office and two days from home. TKDA's headquarters is moving to the South Loop Bloomington neighborhood, providing a vibrant and energizing work environment for our employees. Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the design efforts for corporate and industrial projects.
  • Develop schematic designs and assist with specification preparation and edits.
  • Prepare production documentation for various projects.
  • Serve as a Project Manager, coordinating activities of a multidiscipline team.
  • Manage fee estimates, project budgets, and schedules.
  • Develop project proposals and client presentations for marketing efforts.
  • Maintain and establish client relationships and identify industry trends for business development.

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture and Architectural Registration in the State of Minnesota or ability to become registered within a year of employment; Registration in additional states is a plus.
  • Five (5) to fifteen (15) years of experience with progressive responsibilities.
  • Previous design experience on corporate projects; Educational and government projects a plus.
  • Aspirations to serve or previous experience serving as a Project Manager with demonstrated abilities related to multi-tasking, time management, budgeting, communication (verbal, written, and presentation), and leadership.
  • Proficiency with design applications including Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketch-up; Knowledge of graphics applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design is a plus.
