About the position

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position at Redwood Family Care Network in Covina, CA, is a vital role focused on providing support and training to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with co-occurring mental illnesses. The RBT will work under the general direction of the Administrator, ensuring the safety and well-being of the individuals at all times. This position involves assisting individuals with their daily activities, monitoring their behavior, and collecting data on their progress. The RBT will also communicate effectively with individuals and implement various skills training plans, such as adaptive skills training, social skills training, community integration training, and functional skills training, all while adhering to person-centered planning principles. In this role, the RBT will strategize with consultants to create engaging home and community activities that promote learning, growth, socialization, and independence among individuals. The RBT is responsible for the continuous active treatment program for each individual, ensuring that all training and service objectives are met and documented according to the Individual Service Plan (ISP). Regular monitoring of the individuals' health and well-being is essential, with observations reported to the Administrator or District Manager. The RBT will also participate in the development and evaluation of the ISP, ensuring that health information is documented and communicated appropriately. The position requires the RBT to maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment while providing quality training and positive interactions with individuals. The RBT is expected to attend regular staff meetings, participate in continuing education and training, and develop relationships with other departments and external agencies. This role is not just about fulfilling duties; it is about going above and beyond to make a positive impact on the lives of the individuals served.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the supervision, safety, and well-being of the individuals at all times.
  • Provide continuous active treatment programs for each individual, including training and service objectives.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Monitor and support the individuals' health and well-being, reporting observations to the Administrator or District Manager.
  • Document daily status, behavior, and treatment responses of individuals.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, healthful, and nurturing environment.
  • Provide quality training and positive interactions with individuals at all times.
  • Adhere to and implement the company's active treatment philosophy and organizational policies.
  • Promote learning, growth, socialization, and independence of the individuals.
  • Help develop residents' daily activities, including skill-building and therapeutic activities.
  • Ensure individuals are engaged in meaningful daily activities within home and community settings.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and training.
  • Develop relationships with other company departments, staff, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician certification.
  • Direct Support Professional I and II certificates in accordance with Title 17 Requirements.
  • Current certification of Professional Crisis Management (PCM) training or other approved emergency intervention program.
  • Background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and ability to create task analysis.
  • At least two years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
