About the position

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position at Redwood Family Care Network involves providing support and training to individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those with co-occurring mental illnesses. The RBT will work under the general direction of the Administrator and is responsible for assisting individuals with their day-to-day activities, monitoring their behavior, and collecting data on their progress. This role requires effective communication with individuals and the implementation of skills training plans, which may include adaptive skills training, social skills training, community integration training, or functional skills training. The RBT is expected to understand and apply person-centered planning principles in their work. In addition to direct support, the RBT will strategize with consultants to create engaging home and community activities for individuals. The position emphasizes the importance of supervision, safety, and well-being of the individuals at all times. The RBT will participate in the continuous active treatment program for each individual, ensuring that all training and service objectives are met and documented according to the Individual Service Plan (ISP). Regular monitoring of the individuals' health and well-being is crucial, and any observations must be reported to the Administrator or District Manager. The RBT will also be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and nurturing environment, providing quality training, and fostering positive interactions with individuals. This role requires a commitment to promoting learning, growth, socialization, and independence among individuals. The RBT will help develop daily activities that are skill-building and therapeutic, ensuring that individuals are engaged in meaningful activities both at home and in the community. Regular attendance at staff meetings and participation in continuing education and training is expected, along with the development of relationships with other departments and external agencies. The RBT is encouraged to go above and beyond in their interactions with individuals and staff, performing other related duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and training to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Assist individuals with day-to-day activities and monitor their behavior.
  • Collect data on individuals' progress and communicate effectively with them.
  • Implement skills training plans such as adaptive skills training and social skills training.
  • Strategize with consultants to create engaging home and community activities.
  • Ensure the supervision, safety, and well-being of individuals at all times.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Monitor and support individuals' health and well-being, reporting observations to management.
  • Document daily status, behavior, and treatment responses of individuals.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for individuals.
  • Provide quality training and positive interactions with individuals.
  • Promote learning, growth, socialization, and independence of individuals.
  • Help develop daily activities that maximize positive interactions among individuals and staff.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and training.
  • Develop relationships with other departments and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have current Registered Behavior Technician certification.
  • Must have Direct Support Professional I and II certificates as per Title 17 Requirements.
  • Current certification in Professional Crisis Management (PCM) or other approved emergency intervention program.
  • ABA background with the ability to create task analysis and identify support needs.
  • At least two years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
