About the position

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position at Redwood Family Care Network is a vital role focused on providing support and training to individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those with co-occurring mental illnesses. The RBT will work under the general direction of the Administrator and will be responsible for assisting individuals in their day-to-day activities, monitoring their behavior, and collecting data on their progress. This role requires a strong understanding of person-centered planning principles and the ability to implement various skills training plans, including adaptive skills training, social skills training, community integration training, and functional skills training. The RBT will ensure the supervision, safety, and well-being of the individuals at all times, providing continuous active treatment programs tailored to each individual's needs. This includes the implementation and documentation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP) and participating in its development and evaluation. The RBT will monitor and support the health and well-being of the individuals, reporting any observations to the Administrator or District Manager. Daily documentation of individual status, behavior, and treatment responses is essential, as is maintaining a clean, safe, and nurturing environment. Additionally, the RBT will engage individuals in meaningful daily activities, both within the home and in community settings, promoting learning, growth, socialization, and independence. The role also involves attending regular staff meetings, participating in continuing education and training, and developing relationships with other departments and external agencies. The RBT is expected to go above and beyond in their interactions with individuals and staff, ensuring a positive impact on the lives of those they support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with day-to-day activities and monitor their behavior.
  • Collect data on individuals and communicate effectively with them.
  • Implement skills training plans such as adaptive skills training, social skills training, and community integration training.
  • Ensure the supervision, safety, and well-being of individuals at all times.
  • Provide continuous active treatment programs for each individual, ensuring implementation and documentation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of the ISP.
  • Monitor and support the health and well-being of individuals, reporting observations to the Administrator or District Manager.
  • Document individual status, behavior, and treatment responses daily.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, healthful, and nurturing environment.
  • Promote learning, growth, socialization, and independence of individuals.
  • Help develop residents' daily activities, including skill-building and therapeutic activities.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and training.
  • Develop relationships with other company departments, staff, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician certification.
  • Direct Support Professional I and II certificates in accordance with Title 17 Requirements.
  • Current certification of Professional Crisis Management (PCM) training or other approved emergency intervention program.
  • Background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and ability to create task analysis.
  • At least two years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
