About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Record patient vital signs and medical histories accurately.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, following aseptic techniques.
  • Manage patient records using Dentrix software, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
  • Assist in the sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Support the front office with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Dental Assistant license is required.
  • 1 year of experience with dental terminology is required.
  • Proficient in dental terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to take vital signs accurately.
  • Strong background in dental assisting practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience or knowledge in pediatrics to cater to younger patients effectively.
  • Knowledge of prosthodontics and endodontics procedures is a plus.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to dental health.
  • Proficient in X-ray techniques and safety measures.
  • Experience with Dentrix or similar dental management software.
