As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Shawnee Gardens Healthcare & Rehab Center, you will play a pivotal role in our healthcare team by overseeing staff assignments and providing comprehensive supervision of resident care. Your responsibilities encompass ensuring the highest degree of quality resident care by adhering to established policies and procedures, as well as following the guidance of the Director of Nursing (DON). You will be expected to complete all required RN record-keeping forms and charts during a resident's admission, discharge, transfer, and other important events, ensuring that these records are appropriately filed in the resident's chart and/or forwarded to the relevant department. Additionally, you will prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician and facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, including making necessary arrangements for transportation and packing. In your supervisory role, you will collaborate with the facility's consultants as required and implement recommended changes under the guidance of the DON. You will also investigate and address complaints and grievances, providing necessary oral and written reports to the DON. Daily checks on all residents will be part of your routine to ensure that prescribed treatments are administered correctly by nursing personnel/assistants and to assess their physical and emotional well-being. Keeping the DON informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters is crucial to maintaining a high standard of care.
