About the position

The Emory Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Preop/PACU Registered Nurse to provide safe, effective, and personalized care to patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while also advocating for patients and considering cultural differences in care delivery. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, dependable, and effective care to patients using the nursing process.
• Apply the Synergy Model for Care to personalize care for each patient and family.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Document the nursing process accurately in the appropriate format.
• Utilize patient and family input in planning the plan of care.
• Evaluate patient responses to planned care and adjust the plan as necessary.
• Recognize patient needs and advocate based on knowledge of their condition.
• Consider cultural differences in developing patient and family relationships.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years or recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
• Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be required in designated departments.
