About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Butler Hospital is a full-time role focused on providing direct patient care in accordance with psychiatric and mental health nursing standards. The RN will participate in treatment planning, coordinate medical and nursing care, and manage discharge planning for patients. This role also involves responding to psychiatric and medical emergencies, administering medications, and taking on the responsibilities of a Charge Nurse during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care based on ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing.
• Participates in treatment planning and coordinates management of medical and nursing care.
• Manages discharge planning for patients.
• Coordinates psychiatric and/or medical emergencies to ensure patient safety.
• Assists other staff and accepts additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
• Administers medications with knowledge of their action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes the role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

Requirements

• Current RI nursing license.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) preferred.

Benefits

• Sign-on bonus of $10,000 for new hires (paid in two installments).
• Charge pay differentials: $3.00/hr. for charge pay, $1.50/hr. for evenings, $2.75/hr. for nights, and 15%/hr. for weekends.
