About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiology Clinic at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, assisting with patient education, and supporting providers during examinations and treatments. This role emphasizes whole-person care, ensuring that patients receive not only medical attention but also emotional and spiritual support. The RN will also manage patient communications, including prescription refills and electronic communications, while adhering to established protocols and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients under the direction of the Practice Manager/Clinical Supervisor.
• Assist providers during patient examinations and treatments.
• Administer procedures and treatments as directed by the Provider.
• Handle triage of patient calls, including prescription refills according to protocols.
• Document all patient encounters appropriately in the electronic health record (E.H.R.).
• Serve as a resource and example for other clinical staff members.
• Coordinate patient care with pertinent referrals and follow-ups.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing.
• 2 years of clinically relevant experience.
• Kansas Registered Nurse License.
