About the position

As a Registered Nurse at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a supportive and community-focused environment. Under the direction of the Practice Manager or Clinical Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting with patient education, administering treatments and procedures as directed by the provider, and ensuring that all patient encounters are documented accurately in the electronic health record (E.H.R.). Your role will also involve triaging patient calls, including managing prescription refills according to established protocols. In this position, you will be expected to exemplify the values of AdventHealth by providing whole-person care that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients. You will work collaboratively with other clinical staff members, serving as a resource and support for your colleagues. Customer service skills are essential, as you will be interacting with patients and their families to ensure a positive experience. You will also participate in team huddles to review patient information and coordinate care effectively, adhering to established policies and standards. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing you to maintain a work-life balance while contributing to the health and well-being of the community. Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients under the direction of the Practice Manager/Clinical Supervisor.
  • Assist with patient education and support during treatment and examination.
  • Administer procedures and treatments as directed by the Provider.
  • Handle triage of patient calls, including prescription refills according to refill protocols.
  • Document all patient encounters appropriately in the electronic health record (E.H.R.).
  • Serve as a resource and example for other clinical staff members.
  • Coordinate patient care with pertinent referrals and follow-ups, adhering to established protocols and standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing.
  • 2 years of clinically relevant experience.
  • Kansas Registered Nurse License.
