About the position

As a Registered Nurse at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a clinic setting. Under the guidance of the Practice Manager or Clinical Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting with patient education, administering treatments, and supporting healthcare providers during examinations. Your role will involve triaging patient calls, managing prescription refills according to established protocols, and documenting all patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) system. You will also serve as a resource and example for other clinical staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on patient care. Customer service skills are essential, as you will be interacting with patients and their families to ensure a positive experience in our healthcare facility. Your responsibilities will include adhering to policies and procedures regarding patient medications and testing, coordinating care with referrals, and maintaining effective communication with patients and team members. You will be expected to review patient information regularly to comply with established standards and ensure appropriate follow-up care. Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients under the direction of the Practice Manager/Clinical Supervisor.
  • Assist with patient education and support healthcare providers during examinations.
  • Administer procedures and treatments as directed by the Provider.
  • Handle triage of patient calls, including prescription refills according to refill protocols.
  • Document all patient encounters appropriately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Serve as a resource and example for other clinical staff members.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures for patient medications and testing.
  • Coordinate patient care with pertinent referrals and follow-ups.
  • Engage in electronic communications with patients as per established policy standards.
  • Review patient information via huddles to comply with established PCMH measures.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of clinically relevant experience
  • Kansas Registered Nurse License
