About the position

The Registered Nurse position in the Outpatient Oncology Clinic at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a part-time role focused on delivering family-centered care to pediatric oncology patients. The nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy, managing patient care plans, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This role requires strong oncology and chemotherapy administration skills, along with a commitment to maintaining competencies and participating in ongoing education.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver family-centered care guided by CHOP's Nursing Professional Practice Model.
  • Develop, evaluate, and revise patients' plans of care throughout their hospitalization.
  • Gather and analyze data to inform the care team and delegate tasks.
  • Promote excellent patient outcomes by adhering to evidence-based practices, nursing standards, and safety procedures.
  • Identify and address safety concerns or ethical dilemmas with unit leadership.
  • Develop effective partnerships with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Adopt healthcare technology and clinical practice changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain CEUs for nursing licensure and comply with annual nursing competencies and mandatory education.

Requirements

  • Valid RN License in Pennsylvania or New Jersey
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • At least one (1) year of RN experience
  • 12 months of previous pediatric RN experience required

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Prior experience in pediatrics or area of specialty
