About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at Intermountain Health is responsible for providing high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves utilizing the nursing process, technology, and evidence-based practices while coordinating care with other healthcare team members. The RN will also engage in health teaching, therapy, and treatment to support patient well-being, ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
  • Perform health teaching and health counseling.
  • Provide therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being.
  • Execute delegated medical functions.
  • Refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
  • Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
  • Document in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Use resources as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire and kept current after that.
  • TNCC within 1 year of hire and kept current after that.
  • PALS within 6 months of hire and kept current after that.
  • ENPC within 1 year of hire and kept current after that.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferred.
  • Certification as appropriate for the unit or service is preferred.
