About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at Holy Rosary Hospital is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a busy 8-bed emergency department. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, utilizing evidence-based practices and coordinating with other healthcare team members. This role is crucial in managing the care of approximately 5,000 patients annually, ensuring effective treatment and support for critically ill or injured patients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
• Perform health teaching and health counseling.
• Provide therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being.
• Execute delegated medical functions.
• Refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
• Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
• Document in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Use resources as needed.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire and kept current after that.
• TNCC within 1 year of hire and kept current after that.
• PALS within 6 months of hire and kept current after that.
• ENPC within 1 year of hire and kept current after that.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferred.
• Certification as appropriate for the unit or service is preferred.
