About the position

The Registered Nurse position at Ohio City Health Center involves planning, delivering, documenting, and evaluating nursing care for patients in accordance with their individual needs and provider orders. The role requires directing nursing personnel, observing and assessing patient conditions, and maintaining accurate documentation. The nurse will uphold the mission and values of The MetroHealth System while providing care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, document, and evaluate nursing care for patients according to provider's orders.
  • Direct activities of assigned nursing personnel in patient care.
  • Observe, assess, and report on the condition of patients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care reflecting their condition and treatment.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a program seeking accreditation.
  • Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including biological, physical, psychosocial, and medical sciences.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relations with other employees and medical staff.
  • High degree of physical coordination and finger-hand dexterity.
  • Minimum of one year recent experience in area of clinical interest for PRN and Float Staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and certification.
  • One year of Operating Room experience; Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
  • One year of PACU or critical care experience.
  • One year of prior psychiatric experience.
  • Five years of critical care experience in Radiology.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Two years prior experience in Cardiac-Pulmonary Nursing (outpatient or inpatient).
  • Prior supervisory or project management experience.
