About the position

The Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is a pivotal role responsible for the administrative supervision of the hospital during evening, weekend, and designated holiday hours. The PCS will work within the parameters of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, and established policies, protocols, and procedures, ensuring that all clinical practices adhere to the highest standards of care. In this role, the PCS will collaborate closely with patients, families, physicians, and associates to meet customer needs and expectations in a patient-focused and healing environment. The supervisor will be accountable for administering, supervising, and coaching the healthcare team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in patient care. The PCS will also serve as a role model for the staff, demonstrating a commitment to the organization’s policies, procedures, and protocols, while advocating for patient rights and ethical standards. The position requires a strong commitment to professional appearance and attendance, reflecting the dedication to job requirements and patient care needs. The PCS will play a crucial role in ensuring that the hospital operates smoothly during off-peak hours, maintaining high standards of care and support for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for administrative supervision of the hospital during evening, weekend, and designated holiday hours.
  • Act as a role model for the vision and values of Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
  • Work within the parameters of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and associates to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Administer, supervise, and coach the healthcare team to strengthen accountability and performance.
  • Support and adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Demonstrate patient advocacy by honoring patient rights and advance directives.

Requirements

  • Kansas Registered Nurse License
  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or obtained within 4 years of employment
