About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient is responsible for coordinating nursing care, which includes direct patient care, patient and family education, and managing transitions of care. This role supports professional nursing practice across various settings to meet the needs of patients and their families. The RN functions within the Yuma Regional Medical Center's Nursing Professional Practice Model, ensuring accountability for all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The position also involves leadership responsibilities, mentoring, and participation in quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Inspires hope and nurtures the well-being of the whole person, respecting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Listens attentively to patients, visitors, and colleagues to ensure understanding of their needs.
  • Delivers personalized service based on the physical, emotional, or spiritual needs of others.
  • Practices safe behaviors to ensure a safe environment for patients, employees, and the public.
  • Collects and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses and issues.
  • Assesses comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs.
  • Prioritizes data based on the patient's immediate condition or anticipated needs.
  • Documents data and information collected in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Identifies expected outcomes and develops a culturally appropriate individualized plan of care.
  • Applies evidence-based nursing practices in developing the individualized plan of care.
  • Implements the identified plan and coordinates care delivery in partnership with the patient and healthcare team.
  • Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
  • Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
  • Maintains a professional and therapeutic nurse-patient relationship and serves as a patient advocate.
  • Integrates evidence and research findings into practice.

Requirements

  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) certification
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • 1+ years of related experience
