About the position

The RN inpatient Nurse at Penn State Health - Lancaster Medical Center is responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. This role involves administering nursing care to patients who are ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled, while also advising patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. The RN will monitor and report changes in patients' conditions and administer medications, ensuring accurate documentation and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health problems and needs.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
  • Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Administer medications and monitor for reactions and side effects.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • AHA BLS certification prior to the end of the orientation period.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Circulating experience in operating room preferred.
