The Registered Nurse Manager for Outpatient Community at Intermountain Healthcare is responsible for overseeing daily nursing activities within a nursing department. The position typically leads in small hospitals or manages non-24 hour outpatient service areas, with accountability limited to one facility. The Nurse Manager reports to a Nurse Director and engages in tactical, operational, and strategic duties to enhance nursing practices and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide management and oversight of daily nursing activities.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and availability of equipment.
• Manage budget development and employee performance evaluations.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve clinical program goals.
• Monitor and improve patient satisfaction using service metrics.
• Facilitate collaborative problem solving among interdepartmental disciplines.
• Advocate for and allocate resources to promote effective nursing care.
• Mentor staff and provide professional educational opportunities.
• Encourage staff participation in professional organizations.
• Communicate and encourage community outreach activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• RN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Leadership/supervisory experience.
• Two years of clinical experience.
