About the position

The Registered Nurse Manager for Outpatient Community at LDS Hospital is responsible for overseeing daily nursing activities within the department. This role involves collaboration with nursing leadership and other departments to ensure optimal patient care, financial goal attainment, and leadership development. The position typically manages non-24 hour outpatient service areas or has a small number of direct reports in larger facilities, focusing on tactical, operational, and strategic duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide management and oversight of daily nursing activities.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and availability of equipment.
• Manage budget development and operational effectiveness.
• Facilitate collaborative problem solving among interdepartmental disciplines.
• Advocate for and allocate resources for effective nursing care.
• Promote shared decision-making and professional autonomy.
• Evaluate staff competency through performance and peer reviews.
• Monitor and improve patient satisfaction using service metrics.
• Partner with physicians to achieve clinical and operational goals.
• Encourage community outreach and participation in health-related activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• RN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Leadership/supervisory experience.
• Two years of clinical experience.
